International PhD Mentoring-Workshop on ‘Children’s Well-Being' - Call for Papers

The International Society for Child Indicators Research (ISCI) in collaboration with the European Science Foundation (ESF) is organizing an international mentoring workshop for PhD students. This PhD workshop offers the opportunity for doctoral students to discuss their PhD projects with international experts in the fields of qualitative and quantitative research on children’s well-being. 

The presentations of the PhD projects can be about: General questions about research design; Research methods for research with children; Analysis of data collection; Theoretical debates about children’s well-being

European Latsis prize 2012


The European Science Foundation (ESF) invites nominations for the European Latsis Prize 2012.

The Prize, of a value of 100 000 Swiss Francs, is awarded each year by the Latsis Foundation through the ESF to a scientist or research group in recognition of outstanding and innovative contributions in a selected field of research. The research field for the 2012 Prize is: "Mathematics"


The European Latsis Prize 2012 seeks nominations for outstanding contributions to research in mathematics. Nominations are encouraged from all parts of mathematics, both pure and applied.

The criteria used in the selection procedure will be scientific excellence, the enhancement of knowledge, societal impact and contribution to the understanding and solution of European problems.

All nominations for the European Latsis prize 2012 should be submitted online. Access to the nomination form can be found at www.esf.org/latsis. The deadline for nominations is 15 July 2012.
